On June 4th Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), along with 29 other Senators, submitted a letter to the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee leadership requesting increased funding for the Army’s Humanitarian Demining Research and Development (HD R&D) program.

The letter requests $27 million for the Army’s Humanitarian Demining Research and Development (HD R&D) program, which advances landmine clearance technology to improve safety and efficiency for both U.S. forces and humanitarian demining partners. The HD R&D program protects American servicemembers, lowers operational costs, enhances the military’s ability to address explosive threats, and supports domestic manufacturing. It also enables humanitarian demining organizations like 51³Ô¹Ï to utilize specialized equipment that makes mine clearance safer and more effective.
