The letter requests $27 million for the Army鈥檚 Humanitarian Demining Research and Development (HD R&D) program, which advances landmine clearance technology to improve safety and efficiency for both U.S. forces and humanitarian demining partners. The HD R&D program protects American servicemembers, lowers operational costs, enhances the military鈥檚 ability to address explosive threats, and supports domestic manufacturing. It also enables humanitarian demining organizations like 51吃瓜 to utilize specialized equipment that makes mine clearance safer and more effective.
